EVALUATION DE L’USAGE DE LA TRANSPOSITION DANS LA VERSION FRANÇAISE DE BURNING GRASS DE CYPRIAN EKWENSI

Abstract

La traduction, rendre un message d’une langue à une autre n’est pas toujours facile à cause des différences structurales des langues impliquées. Si le sens, le seul élément figé dans le processus traductionnel, doit se rendre dans une autre langue, le traducteur doit se servir de certaines techniques de la traduction. Notre étude porte sur la traduction littéraire précisément l’évaluation de la version française de Burning Grass de Cyprian Ekwensi, traduit comme La Brousse ardente par Françoise Balogun. Nous nous concentrons sur la transposition comme l’un des sept procédés techniques proposés par Jean Paul Vinay et Jean Darbelnet pour faciliter la tâche d’un traducteur pendant sa traduction afin de rendre le message dans un texte d’une langue à l’autre sans détruire le sens. L’objectif de cette étude est de montrer comment la traductrice s’est servi de la transposition, un des quatre procédés techniques obliques de la traduction dans la Brousse ardente.  Pour la réaliser nous avons relevé certains éléments transposés dans les extraits de deux textes. Il est évident que c’est la théorie comparatiste de Vinay et Darbelnet qui nous guide dans ce travail.

Translation, getting a message from one language to another is not always easy because of the structural differences of the languages ​​involved. If the meaning, the only fixed element in the translation process, has to go into another language, the translator must use certain translation techniques. Our study focuses on the literary translation precisely the evaluation of the French version of Burning Grass by Cyprian Ekwensi, translated as La Brousse ardente by Françoise Balogun. We focus on transposition as one of the seven technical processes proposed by Jean Paul Vinay and Jean Darbelnet to facilitate the task of a translator during his translation in order to render the message in a text from one language to another without destroy meaning. The objective of this study is to show how the translator used transposition, one of the four oblique technical processes of translation in the Burning Bush. To achieve this, we have identified certain elements transposed in the extracts of two texts. It is obvious that it is the comparative theory of Vinay and Darbelnet which guides us in this work.
